Description

This course has been funded by Muscular Dystrophy UK and supported by the MRC Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases to provide online CPD for physiotherapists on the management of people with neuromuscular diseases.

Objectives

The purpose of the module is to provide helpful information for community and/or neuro-physiotherapists to build a foundation of knowledge and skills around the management of muscle-wasting conditions in adults.

Outcomes

After completing this online eLearning module, you will be able to:

  • understand the spectrum of muscle-wasting conditions
  • confidently assess the needs of patients with muscle-wasting conditions
  • identify the key interventions needed for the therapeutic management of people with muscle-wasting conditions

 

Accreditation

The module has a flexible structure where you can pick and choose how much of the content you wish to complete. If you complete the core topics plus two optional topics, you will be able to request a certificate for your CPD file.

This course was really engaging, well delivered and full of useful content! I do think the assessment component needs updated as I was required to answer questions I had not yes covered in the course material.

The content is very wonderful, but there are some things that need to be modified, and I think there is a need to update the content more, but on a basic level, it is wonderful.

Detailed but does not overload you with scientific detail
